Angenita F. Petersen (nee Fassbender) Of Williamstown, NJ, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012. She was born in Williamstown on October 7, 1924. She is survived by her three children; Elizabeth Anne Eley, Anita Kathleen Eley (Roy Fennimore) and Robert Lewis Eley (Diane) all of Williamstown. She had five grandchildren; Amy Kueny, Karen Roorda, Sean Eley, Tyler Eley and Erin Eley. She also had two new great grandchildren; Donovan Roorda and Elyse Kueny and daughter-in-law, Audrey Flemming. She is survived by her sister, Cornelia Buerklin and her brother, William Fassbender. In addition she has many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. Nita held various jobs throughout her life. She was a telephone Pioneer, waitress and school clerk. Her most cherished position was her role as a mother, grandmother and home maker. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and The Fraternal Order of the Eastern Star. She assisted her father in his duties as air raid warden and volunteered at Washington Memorial Hospital. She loved cooking, traveling, reading and crossword puzzles. Her strength and zest for life continued to her last day. A memorial will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on January 19, 2013 from 10-11 am calling time with OES services at 11 and Church service to follow. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Fassbender/Van Looy Scholarship fund, 101 Shute Ave., Williamstown, NJ.
