Carlo T. Lala, age 86, of Holiday City in Williamstown, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on January 15, 2023.
Carlo was the oldest child born to Charles and Lena Lala in 1936. Coming from a close Italian family, he always taught the importance of family from a young age. Carlo worked as an employee for Sears and Roebuck in Philadelphia for many years before retiring. Coming from humble beginnings in South Philadelphia, he became an accomplished real estate developer in Sea Isle City, NJ. It is there he built many condominium buildings for families to enjoy their summer vacations. His love for the Jersey Shore and Sea Isle City is where he devoted his time developing organizations for the enhancement of the town. With his love for Sea Isle City and helping others, Carlo was always there for anyone who needed help fixing things, as well as, being involved in many projects throughout the town. Carlo loved spending time on his boat fishing, crabbing, driving around the bay to explore the natural beauty that always surrounded him. Sea Isle City was a special place to him, where everyone could get together for summer nights on the deck filled with pasta, laughs, and love. Above all, he cherished his time spent with family.
While attending a High School dance, Carlo met the love of his life, Joan T. Lala (nee McFarland) whom he spent 69 years together with. Carlo was the devoted father of Catherine "Kitty" Lala-Dolio (Joseph Dreger), Charles Lala (Karen), Michael Lala (Sharon), and Carlo T. Lala, Jr. (Denise Ferrigno). Loving grandfather of Carla, Jaclyn, Nicholas, Michael David, Devon, Rachel, Danielle, Michael, Jr., CJ, Sarah and great grandfather of Jason and Elizabeth. Dear brother of Rita Iannelli (Bob), Michael Lala, and the late Thomas Lala (Joannie). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Monday, January 23rd from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church/Our Lady of Peace Parish, S. Main St. & Carroll Ave., Williamstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Joseph's Catholic Church 4308 Landis Ave, Sea Isle City, NJ 08243
