Carol Elwood (nee Tharp), age 77, of Williamstown, NJ, went home to be with the Lord on September 12, 2026. Born in Philadelphia she lived in Bellmawr for a short time before moving to Williamstown 49 years ago.

Carol was a loving wife, devoted mother, as well as a kindhearted woman. Her beautiful smile and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. She shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, creating a lifetime of cherished memories. She never met a stranger and every person was just a friend she hadn’t met yet. Carol had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Williamstown. She was a woman who always put the needs of others before her own, giving freely of her time, love and compassion. A breast cancer survivor, she faced life’s challenges with strength and courage. She enjoyed traveling and making memories with her husband, and had a special love for teddy bears, which she collected over the years. Giving back to her community was an important part of her life. She and her husband were actively involved in charities such as, God’s Table, where they served many meals to those in need, and the Angel Tree, which provided gifts to children in need during the holiday season. Carol was always willing to serve wherever she could. Her greatest joy was her family and the memories she made with them.

Beloved wife of Robert J. Elwood. Devoted mother of Scott Elwood (Jamillah)). Loving grandmother of Juliana Noel Elwood (Olivia) and Jared Dylan Elwood. Cherished daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy Tharp.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Monday, September 28th, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM.
