David Downing, 86, of Williamstown, NJ, passed away on August 22, 2021.  Born in Melton Mowbray, England, he has lived in Williamstown since 1970.

Dave worked for Jones and Shipman in England, where he met his wife before coming to the United States.  He also played soccer for Jones and Shipman.     He was a Queen Scout, which is the highest honor.  He served in the Royal Armored Core in England.  He owned and operated Anglo Precision Grinding in Williamstown for many years before retiring.  He was a member of the Williamstown Lodge #166 F&AM for 46 years, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1983 & 1985 and served as treasurer for several years.  He served as District Deputy Grand Master of the 21 ^st Masonic District from 1990 – 1993, President of the 21 ^st Masonic District Past Masters and Wardens Association, a member and served as Grand Tall Cedar of Glassboro Forest #1 Tall Cedars of Lebanon.  He was a Scottish Rite 32 ^nd Degree Mason and he served on numerous committees for the Grand Lodge of New Jersey.  He also enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with his family.

Beloved husband for 64 years of Pauline Ann Downing (nee Dunkley).  Devoted father of Maria Mead (Scott), Lesley Onda (Ed), and Martin Downing (Mechell).  Loving grandfather of the late Michael, the late Alexis, Christina, Brian, Lauren, Heather, Jenna, Carrie, Stephanie and Christina.  Loving great-grandfather of Tylor and Dylan.  Dear brother of Paul Downing (Lorraine) and the late John Downing.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday evening, September 2 ^nd from 7:00 – 9:00 pm and on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown, where a Masonic Service will be held on Thursday at 8:00 pm.  Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hurffville.
