Deborah A. Liberty, age 73, of Williamstown, NJ, formerly of Washington Township, passed away on September 9, 2026.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend, Debbie was deeply devoted to the people in her life. Family was never something that existed only around holidays or special occasions for her. She was part of the everyday details: where everyone was going, how they were doing, what they were worried about, and what there was to celebrate. She shared in the lives of the people she loved, and they always knew how much they mattered to her.

For many years, Debbie worked as a paralegal, a career in which she took great pride before retiring. She also had a wonderfully creative side and especially loved crafting and scrapbooking. Through the photographs, keepsakes, and memories she carefully preserved, Debbie created a lasting record of the family life and friendships that meant so much to her.

Debbie loved having somewhere to go and someone to go with. Shopping, dining out, traveling with friends, trips to the boardwalk and casinos, and attending horse races were among her favorite ways to spend her time. She enjoyed making plans, getting out, and sharing experiences with the people she loved. For Debbie, being together was as important as the destination.

Above all else, family was the center of Debbie’s world. She shared a lifetime with her beloved husband, William, and together they built a family and a life that meant everything to her. She was deeply devoted to her children, Travis and Stacy, remaining an important part of their everyday lives throughout hers. She carried the people she loved close to her heart, celebrated their successes, shared their worries, and wanted, above all, to know that her family would be all right. She could take comfort in the close and loving family she helped build and in knowing they would continue to be there for one another.

Becoming a grandmother brought another great joy to Debbie’s life. She took tremendous pride in Cole and Claudia and loved watching them grow. She celebrated their accomplishments, attended their milestones and sporting events, cheered them on, and made certain they knew how proud she was of them. For Debbie, loving her family meant showing up, and she did.

Her love extended throughout her family and to the many friends who became such an important part of her life. The memories she leaves behind are found not only in life’s biggest occasions, but in years of wonderfully ordinary ones: conversations and meals, holidays and vacations, shopping trips and rides, laughter and traditions, and the comfort of simply knowing she was there.

Those ordinary moments are now among the memories her family will treasure most.

Debbie’s absence leaves an immeasurable space in the family she spent a lifetime loving. She will be remembered not simply for the things she enjoyed or the places she went, but for the place she occupied in so many lives: wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her family will carry forward the stories she told, the traditions she helped create, the memories she preserved, and, above all, the knowledge of how deeply they were loved by her.

She is also survived by her niece and goddaughter, Melisa Walker; nephew, Zachary Smiley (Denise); and great-nephews, Tyler Smiley, Mason Smiley, and Isaiah Walker.

She is also survived by her beloved pug, Ruby, who brought her great joy and remains a faithful companion to both William and Travis.

Services will be held privately at the request of the family.
