Obituary

Edna Poreda was a lifelong resident of New Jersey.  She was raised in Delanco, then moved to Riverside after she married, where she lived for many years raising her family. After retiring from Stylex in Delanco, she moved to Sicklerville to care for her in-laws, then settled in Williamstown in 2009.

A faithful Jehovah's Witness since 1976, Edna lived a life deeply rooted in love for God and dedication to sharing the good news of God's Kingdom.  She spent years learning Portuguese so that she could share the Bible with her neighbors.

Edna was known for her stunning rose garden, which attracted many visitors. She enjoyed coin collecting, her pet birds Rosie and Tiny, bird-watching—especially hummingbirds—and spending time in nature. Edna had a deep love for others, particularly children, and was especially supportive of those with special needs, helping them realize their potential.  Stan and Edna's home was a safe haven for many people. They rarely had empty rooms, opening their house warmly for anyone who needed a place to stay.

Beloved wife of 59 years to Stanley J. Poreda, Jr.  Devoted mother of Stanley J. Poreda, III (Susan) of Simpsonville, SC, and Carin Poreda of Williamstown.  Loving grandmother of Rebecca Barber (Cory) and Amanda MacNeir.  Dear sister of Nancy Gangemi, sister-in-law of Eileen Poreda.  She is also survived by an extended spiritual family.
