Obituary

The Lord called His loyal servant Elaine Marie Morris (née Chadwick) home after a prolonged illness on December 23 at Inspira Medical Center in Mullica Hill. She was 69 years old.

A graduate of Williamstown High School (1974) and Glassboro State College (1978), she dedicated her life to teaching the youth of New Jersey, first at Camden County Vocational & Technical School in Sicklerville, then at St. Rose of Lima Regional School in Newfield, before spending 20 years in Vineland Public Schools (specifically, at Dr. John Winslow School, Anthony Rossi School, and Solve D'Ippolito School). Not merely an educator, she often served as a mentor to both the students she taught and to her colleagues.

A lifelong fan of Philadelphia sports teams (especially the Phillies), she could often be seen cheering them on, though she would often admit that they gave her agita.

Devoted wife of 45 years to her husband William Joseph Morris, Jr. Loving mother to William Joseph Morris, III and Theresa Leigh‑Anne Morris (Nat Hahn). Proud daughter of the late Leon Ernest Chadwick, Jr. and the late Mabel May Chadwick (née Trautz). Cherished sister of the late Leon Ernest Chadwick, III and the late Mabel May Chadwick. She is also survived by seven nieces and nephews, and seven grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, January 3rd from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the Church of the Nativity (St. Michael the Archangel Parish), 2677 Delsea Drive, Franklinville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 1300 Tuckahoe Road, Franklinville.
