Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Fischer-Prus (nee Dunn), age 89, of Malaga passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024 after a brief stay at Inspira Hospital in Vineland. Elizabeth was born to Anna and Joseph Dunn, Sr. of Millbury, Massachusetts.  She was the middle sister of Joseph Dunn, Jr. and Carol Gilbert (Dunn), all who have preceded her in death.  Elizabeth graduated as a member of the class of 1952 from Millbury High School in Millbury, Massachusetts. She moved to New Jersey in 1960 with her first husband, George W. Fischer, Sr. where they raised their six children.

Elizabeth worked at Owens Illinois in Glassboro as Cafeteria Manager for several years before going to Prudential Insurance Company in Millville as a Systems Analyst where she worked until retirement.  Following retirement, Elizabeth worked for a few years at Calderone Chrysler Plymouth in Hammonton where she went to purchase a car and was hired for a clerical position.

Elizabeth enjoyed going to the beach, gardening, camping, watching football and baseball. She especially enjoyed taking trips to her beloved home state of Massachusetts. But most of all she loved family gatherings and being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid New England Patriots fan but also began rooting for the local Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. Elizabeth was a very positive person. Her favorite response to inquiries about her well-being was "I'm fine, I'm fine, everything's fine." And that's the way she was.  She never complained or stated anything negative about anyone or anything.

Elizabeth is survived by her children George W. Fischer, Jr. (Louise); Cheryl E. Yap (Andrew); Michael J. Fischer; Carol M. Marandino (Salvatore); Bryan E. Fischer (Debbie).  Beloved grandmother of April Philips (Kiley), Lisa Jarrell-Cravins (Randy), Thomas Wallace (Elizabeth), Nicholas Yap (Carla), Salvatore Marandino III (Mary), Kimberly Yap, Joseph Marandino, and Thomas Pratz.  Beloved great-grandmother of Zak, Kirsten, Mark, Quinn, and Hunter.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her first husband, George W. Fischer, Sr. and her second husband, Earl L. Prus; her daughter, Lora J. "Lori" Fischer and her grandson, Shaun R. Fischer.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 North Main Street, Williamstown, NJ 08094.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM at St. Mary's Church/Our Lady of Peace Parish, S. Main Street & Carroll Avenue, Williamstown, NJ. Burial will be held at Our Lady of Victories Cemetery, East Summer Avenue, Landisville, NJ.
