Erlinda Pangaldan, age 89, of Sicklerville, New Jersey, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital.

Erlinda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was born in Corregidor, Cavite, Philippines in 1933. She grew up in Corregidor and later pursued her passion for teaching by obtaining her teaching degree. Erlinda dedicated her life to educating young minds in the town of Santa Cruz, Zambales, Philippines, and where she retired as a school teacher after many years of service prior to moving to the U.S.

Erlinda is preceded in death by her parents, Santiago Espino and Francisca Liceralde; husband Paulo Pangaldan; and brothers Pacifico Espino, Anacleto Espino, Severino Espino, and Rodolfo Espino. She is survived by her sisters Angelina Searles and Dr. Zenaida Ostman; six children: Paulinda Pangaldan, Lito Pangaldan, Caring Pangaldan, Nanette Montealegre, Pepe Pangaldan, and Sheila Marie Pangaldan-Gumiit; sons-in-law Bobby Pabalan, Rhanel Gumiit, Jun Montealegre; and daughter-in-law May Pangaldan.

Erlinda was a devoted mother who always put her family first and cherished every moment spent with them. She was a doting grandmother to her grandchildren: Robert and Francesca Pabalan; Athena and Earl Pangaldan; Chyan Kerrigan; Alex and Aldrein Pangaldan; Lauren, Bree, Louise and Liv Gumiit, and was adored by her great-granddaughter Noelle Pabalan.

Erlinda loved to cook, travel, adventures, dance the tango, and play cards with friends. She was a Community leader in her former hometown of Santa Cruz in the Philippines.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, February 26, 2023, at St. Mary's Church/Our Lady of Peace Parish, S. Main Street & Carroll Avenue, Williamstown, New Jersey.
