Obituary

On Tuesday, December 26, 2023 Jehovah decided it was time to transition his beloved daughter and obedient servant Eugenia Harper.

Eugenia began serving Jehovah in the late 70's. She later joined the Williamstown congregation where she diligently served for over 40 years.

Eugenia Harper was born on October 23rd, 1931 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Lonney Richie Sr. and Nina Williams. She was educated within the public-school systems of Philadelphia. Eugenia graduated from Overbrook Highschool in June of 1950.

Later she met the love of her life William Harper. They got married and had five children throughout the duration of their love journey together: Denise Harper, William David Harper, Deborah Harper-Harris, Doretha Roundtree, and Darryl Harper. Eugenia and William affectionately cared for and loved their children.  As a stay-at-home mother, Eugenia not only raised her own children she took on the responsibility of being a caregiver for multiple children in the community. She instilled in all children that she had the privilege of caring for that you grow to be leaders so that you could make a difference in the world.

After raising her children, Eugenia began to work. She was a dedicated employee to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital for 17 years. She retired at the age of 65 and began full time Pioneering.  AS stated in Luke 14:23 "The master said to the slave, go out to the roads and the lanes and compel them to come in, so that the house may be filled" As a servant of her faith she was now a pioneer.  As the years progress Eugenia was not able to go out and Pioneer as she desired, but Jehovah was her first priority at all times.

Eugenia was loved and leaves to cherish her memory; her loving brother Lonney Richie Jr, her five children Denise Harper, William David Harper, Deborah Harper-Harris, Doretha Roundtree, and Darryl Harper; two daughter in laws Constance Harper, Tracy Harper; 8 grandchildren Deanna Owens, Dionne Schoolfield, Kristine Harper, Damon William Harper, Delita Daviston, Alexia Pringle, Chase Harper, William David Harper, Jr., eight great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and sisters and brothers of the faith.

Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial talk on Friday, January 5th at 5:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1222 Clayton Road, Williamstown, NJ.
