Gale Galena Lang (née Micaletti), also lovingly known throughout much of her life as Gale Brady, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, at the age of 71, surrounded by the love of those whose lives she touched so deeply, leaving behind a legacy of adventure, resilience, boundless compassion, and unwavering love for her family.
Born on March 15, 1955, at Misericordia Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gale was the cherished daughter of Dominic and Grace (Rufo) Micaletti. She spent her childhood in the Kingsessing neighborhood of Southwest Philadelphia, growing up alongside her beloved brother, Gary, near the corner of 52nd Street and Woodland Avenue. She grew up surrounded by the close-knit community that shaped her independent spirit. She attended Most Blessed Sacrament Grade School before graduating from West Catholic Girls High School, where her vibrant spirit and adventurous nature were already beginning to shine.
Gale’s life was marked by an unwavering work ethic that she fortunately passed down to both of her daughters. She began her career sharing her love of dance as an instructor at Cherimaine’s School of Dance and Elmwood Dance Academy, inspiring young dancers with both grace and enthusiasm. She later worked as a secretary for the A. Webster Dougherty brokerage firm. Never one to be confined by expectations, Gale eventually found her place in the aviation industry, first with UPS, then USAirways, and ultimately with American Airlines. As a CDL truck driver servicing aircrafts at Philadelphia International Airport, she spent twenty-six years earning the respect of coworkers through dependability, determination, and a spirited personality. She retired in 2022 after a career she took immense pride in.
Retirement was meant to mark the beginning of a new season filled with travel, family, and well-earned rest. Instead, just six months later, Gale received the devastating diagnosis of Stage IV cervical cancer. True to the woman she had always been, Gale confronted her illness with extraordinary courage, fierce determination, and unfaltering dignity. For four years she fought with remarkable strength and grace, never allowing her diagnosis to define her. She battled relentlessly with perseverance until she peacefully concluded her final battle. Though cancer ultimately claimed her earthly life, it never diminished her indomitable spirit. Due to Gale’s unwavering faith as a Pioneer and one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, The family finds comfort in Jehovah’s promise of the resurrection and looks forward with confidence to the day when Gale will be welcomed back in perfect health on a peaceful earth, free from pain and sickness as promised in Revelations 21:3, 4.
To know Gale was to know someone who refused to live life halfway. She possessed an adventurous soul, an infectious laugh, and a fearless independence that carried her through every chapter of her life. She welcomed challenges rather than shying away from them, approaching each new opportunity with determination, curiosity, and quiet confidence. Gale embraced life with an adventurous heart and an insatiable curiosity about the world.
As a young woman, Gale dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. Although circumstances never allowed her to fulfill that dream, her boundless compassion for animals never wavered. Her home was always a sanctuary for creatures great and small, each welcomed with the same warmth and unconditional love she so freely gave to everyone around her, whether covered in fur, feathers, or paws.
Gale found happiness in life’s simple and extraordinary adventures alike. The ocean was her sanctuary. A devoted beach lover, she had been surfing since her teenage years and found peace in the rhythm of the ocean waves. During the winter months, she traded sand for snow, spending treasured weekends skiing in the mountains, embracing every season with enthusiasm. Music was the soundtrack of her life, with classic rock filling her home and her beautiful singing voice often accompanying the melodies she loved so dearly.
Perhaps nothing reflected Gale’s free spirit more than her passion for travel. It was woven into the fabric of who Gale was. Taking full advantage of her career in aviation, with little more than a passport, an adventurous heart, and an eagerness to discover what lay beyond the horizon, she often set off on solo journeys across continents—sometimes without telling anyone exactly where she was headed or when she would return. Those adventures became part of the legend of Gale, reflecting a woman who believed life was meant to be explored, not merely observed.
Yet despite all the places she traveled to, Gale’s greatest destination was always home—where her family awaited her. She was first married to Joseph Small in 1975, later to Paul Brady in 1992, and finally found enduring companionship with her beloved husband, Thomas Lang, marrying in 2018, with whom she shared laughter and enduring devotion. She leaves behind T, along with his children, Michael (Kelly) and Brian (Krista), and his cherished grandchild Nora.
She was the proud and deeply devoted mother of her beloved, beautiful and confident daughters, Jamie (Carlos) and Ashley, who were the center of her world and a constant source of pride, whose own strength, compassion, and love stand as living reflections of the remarkable woman who raised them on her own as a single mother with no help.
Nothing brought Gale greater joy than her greatest title “Zah-Zah,” the affectionate name lovingly bestowed upon her by her treasured grandchildren—Domenic, Gionna, Angelo (Lilly), and Joseph—each of whom brought immeasurable joy to her life. Her heart expanded even further with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Luna, and Enzo, and she eagerly anticipated welcoming sweet baby Elena into the family. Each child was a source of immeasurable pride and endless delight, and each carried a special place in her heart.
Gale will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, fearless independence, infectious laughter, compassionate heart, resolute strength, and limitless capacity to love. She taught those around her that courage is not the absence of hardship, but the decision to continue moving forward despite it. Though her voice has fallen silent, its melody lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though her footprints have faded from the sand, the love she scattered so generously throughout her lifetime will remain for generations to come. Her story does not end with her passing, but continues through the family she cherished, the friendships she cultivated, and the countless lives made richer simply because Gale was part of them.
Relatives and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Gale’s life at a Memorial Talk on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1222 Clayton Road, Williamstown, New Jersey 08094.
