George T. Mellen, age 81, most recently of Hammonton, NJ, passed away on March 7, 2024.
Born in Sellersville, PA, he was raised in Philadelphia. George raised his family in Williamstown, NJ then spent many years in Frankfort, KY, before returning to NJ.
He was a proud US Marine Corps Veteran. George started his career with Boeing, then worked for the Federal Reserve, retiring from the State of Kentucky as a Computer Systems Engineer. George was a born again Christian and followed Jesus his entire life. He loved to read the Bible and pray. He was most excited when he saw God's hand in everyday life. Numerous miracles from God happened throughout his life. He cherished his time spent at church, especially Open Bible Baptist Church, where he was involved in many ministries.
Beloved father of George Mellen II (Darlene), Rob Mellen (Kris), Alicianne Fritz (Tom), Bryan Mellen (Bobbi). Loving grandfather of Heather, Joshua, Lauren, Jonathan, Ashley, Rob Jr, Ryan, Kyle, Joey, Kylie, Brianna, Thomas Jr, Hannah, Timothy, Bryan II, Michaella, Cassondra, Chandler, and Bryce. Loving great-grandfather of Theodore, Walter, Robbie III, Julianne, Ivy, Wynn and one on the way. Dear brother of Barbara Kaisinger, Dan Mellen (CJ), the late Ruthie Mellen, the late Joe Mellen (Patty), and the late John Mellen (Aurea). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, March 23 at 9 a.m. with celebration of life following at 10 a.m at the Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown, NJ. A luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m. at Stagecoach Rd Christian Fellowship, 139 Stagecoach Rd, Sicklerville, NJ 08081.
In honor of George's light-hearted personality, please feel free to dress casually.
