Obituary

Helen Isabelle Ferrara (nee: Bainbridge) of Williamstown, NJ, passed away on May 14th after a brief and sudden illness. She was surrounded by her family and her wonderful friend Mike every day.

Helen was born on August 16th, 1938 to John Bainbridge and Anna Clark in Philadelphia, PA.  Helen attended Bartram High school in Southwest Philadelphia and went to Sunday school at Southwestern Presbyterian Church with all of her cousins.  Shortly after high school, Helen was introduced to Carl and had a beautiful marriage of 62 years.  Helen and Carl had 3 children; John (Sandy), Carl (Jessica), and Liza (Rocco).

Helen was well known for her graceful disposition, impeccable fashion sense, and her unwavering love of her family.  She was an active member of Apostles Lutheran Church and looked forward to Sunday service and working the food pantry.

Helen was predeceased by her husband Carl, sister Delores (sissy), and her parents. We take comfort in knowing they were all waiting for her at the door to heaven.

She is survived by all 3 of her children, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Helen's departure is a profound loss for her entire family and anyone who was lucky enough to know her.  We are grateful that even until the end she stayed true to herself; making us laugh when we only wanted to cry.  Her spirit was so incredibly strong, and while she may have been small in stature, she remained the powerful matriarch we knew and loved.

As a woman of great faith, Helen's life will be celebrated on Friday, May 24th at Apostles Lutheran Church, 4401 Black Horse Pike, Turnersville.  A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30 AM, where a memorial service will follow at 11:30 AM.

As a tribute to our incredible Mom, Gmom, and GGmom, the family would love to see everyone wear her favorite color- purple.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan Hospice by visiting www.SamaritanNJ.org .  To send a donation by mail, please make checks payable to Samaritan and mail to Samaritan Gift Processing Center, PO Box 71425, Philadelphia, PA 19176-1425.
