Obituary

Helen B. Grace (nee Tautkus), age 84, of Williamstown, NJ, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on July 21, 2026.

Born in Lithuania, Helen fled post WW II Europe with her family to Philadelphia, PA, where she attended St. Maria Goretti high school. Helen married and moved to Mt. Laurel, NJ where she raised her children, Monica Kailis Londo and the late Joseph Potter. Helen was an active volunteer in the local school and community. She contributed to various civic organizations, including local school PTA boards where she served a term as Vice President of the NJ Parent-Teacher Association.

Helen began her career as a talented hairdresser, a profession that allowed her to connect with and care for others. She then had a long career in customer service with Verizon (formerly NJ Bell Telephone) where she worked faithfully until her retirement in 2010.

In her free time, Helen developed her talents as a gifted quilter. Every piece was crafted with care and love for the special people in her life. Those fortunate enough to receive one of Helen’s beautiful, hand-crafted quilts will always have something to remember her. Helen’s personal sanctuary was getting away to spend time down the shore in Cape May, where she spent as much time as possible.

Above all else, Helen treasured her family. She was predeceased in death by her beloved son, Joseph Potter. She is cherished and survived by her devoted daughter, Monica Kailis Londo (Drew), grandchildren Justin Kailis, Maya Londo and Carter Londo.

Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, Helen’s family asks that donations be made in her honor to the American Civil Liberties Union (https://action.aclu.org/give/support-aclu-new-jersey).
