Hilda McGill (nee Price), Born on March 30, 1925, in Philadelphia, PA, resided in Cherry Hill, NJ, passed away on October 17, 2024.
Beloved wife of the late James Saunders and years later Samuel McGill (both deceased) Devoted mother of Cynthia Snow (husband Carl) and the late Hilda Holley (Jackie) and granddaughters Shay Scott, Cynthia Brooks (husband Will), Amber Johnson and grandsons, Marques Saunders (living), Jermaine Saunders and Alfred Holley, deceased. Mom loved her family and often reminisced about them, she also enjoyed going to restaurants, as she loved to eat.
She was predeceased by loving Parents, Chester and Ethel Price. Hilda was one of 17 Children, Predeceased by Clarence Price, Donald Price, Charles Price, Theodore Price, Bernard Price, Harry Price, Johnny Price, Doris Price, Beulah (Peggy) Garrett, Ethel Coley, Bernice Scott (Twin to Bernard), Delores Forte, Viola Worley. (Still Living) Pauline Wroten Page, Barbara Jean Singleton and Haven Price. and she loved them all. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Hilda was raised in Philadelphia, PA. She always worked hard and long hours, one of her long-term jobs was working at a Fraternity, Nu Sigma Nu, where she cared for future Doctors of Jefferson Hospital. She later worked for a non-profit in West Philadelphia, caring for severely handicapped children, often singing and reading to them. Mom love to read, especially the Bible, she enjoyed puzzles too. Mom never had a lot materially but knew how to budget and was very generous and raised us to be honest and hardworking. She had a special place in her heart for her baby Sister, Pauline Wroten-Page, whom she lived with for many years. She loved to get her hair done and look nice, her dear friend Yvonne Pierce was so generous to mom visiting her often, sometimes more than once a week and would bring a bag of treats. Other members of her church such as Phyllis Cobb and her husband always showed love to mom. Shay would visit Grandmom if not in person, then on Facetime, Mom would grin from ear to ear. We give thanks from the heart for those that visited or called Mom, this brought her so much joy.
Services will be held privately at the request of the family.
