Jacqueline Russell, 96, of Mullica Hill, NJ, passed away on August 30, 2024.

Jackie was known for her remarkable determination and boundless generosity, qualities that touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.  She enjoyed trips to the Casino, yard sales, and gardening.

Jackie devoted herself to her Downs Syndrome daughter, Kate. She fought multiple successful battles with the county and state to get benefits for retarded children. She and her husband Bill built a summer camp for retarded children. They also built a pavilion at the Ella Harris Recreational Park.

Jackie was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation for assisting the furtherance of better understanding between peoples of the world. She also worked in the cafeteria at Clearview Regional High School until she was 84.

Beloved wife of the late William E. Russell.  Devoted mother of her children Barbara Russell Rylander and her husband Anthony Rylander of Dallas, William C. Russell, and the late Kathryn Ann Russell. Loving grandmother of William A. Rylander and Joshua A. Rylander.  William is married to Erika Rylander. She is the great-grandmother of Kagome and Sebastian Rylander.

At the request of the family, services are being held at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Williamstown, NJ.
