James F. McDevitt, age 89, of Franklin Twp., NJ, passed away on August 6, 2025.

Born in Camden, NJ, James lived in Cedarbrook and was a long-time resident of Williamstown before settling in Franklin Twp.

Mr. McDevitt was a proud US Army Veteran of the Korean War.  He later worked as a Carpenter for Local Union #121/255 for many years before retiring.  Mr. McDevitt was a dedicated member of the Williamstown Fire Company for 62 years.  He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed woodworking, running his Christmas tree farm and playing softball in his younger years.

Beloved husband of 65 years to Barbara A. McDevitt (nee Grubb).  Devoted father of Rob McDevitt (Ann), Bill McDevitt (Bob), and Dan McDevitt (Liz).  Loving grandfather of Jimmy (Jennifer), Danielle (Brad), Madelynn, and great grandfather of Cooper, Jimmy, Asher, Joshua, and Kenzo.  Dear son of the late William McDevitt and the late Helen Spencer (the late Albert).  Predeceased by his siblings Mary Bill (the late Sonny), Helen Seppy (the late Carmen), William McDevitt (the late Joanne), and Sheila McDevitt.  He is also survived by his sister in law Marcy Gimble and many loving nieces & nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday, August 12th from 10:00 - 11:30 AM at the Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown, where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM.  Burial will follow in the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
