Jay C. Ball, age 75, of Williamstown, NJ, formerly of Bel Air, MD, passed away suddenly on November 9, 2024.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, to Joseph F. Ball, Sr., and Eloise Ball (nee Lutz), Jay spent his early years in South Park, PA, and later lived in Bel Air, MD, before settling in Williamstown, NJ, five years ago.
Jay retired after a long career as an Engineer at Verizon Communications. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, a chapter of his life he looked back on with great pride. He was a lifetime member of the Tidioute VFW Post # 8803, his home away from home. After his service, Jay embraced life's adventures and found joy in simple pleasures. He enjoyed trying his luck at the blackjack table at the casino and video poker. His love for the outdoors often led him on hunting and fishing trips, where he found peace and excitement in nature.
A talented cook, Jay took pride in preparing meals for his loved ones. Known as "Mr. Fix-it," he could repair almost anything, always happy to lend a hand and share his skills with family and friends. Jay's warm presence, kindness, and down-to-earth nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Beloved husband of Barbara Ball (nee Johnson). Devoted stepfather of Charles Greco and Peter Greco. Dear brother of Candy Draksler (John). Jay is also survived by loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph F. Ball, Jr.
At the request of the family, services are being held privately.
