Jay Schwoebel, Sr., "Poppy", age 85, life-long resident of Glassboro, NJ, passed away on May 18, 2021.

Mr. Schwoebel was a US Coast Guard and US Marine Corps Veteran.  He spent time on the Ambrose Lightship and throughout his travels in the military, he always found a way to return home to NJ.  He later worked as a Corrections Officer for the NJ Department of Corrections until retiring in 2006.  He enjoyed spending summers in Sea Isle City, going to the diner, and sharing his "gift of gab," talking and telling stories to all.

Beloved husband of the late Marion E. "Mick" Schwoebel.  Devoted father of Jay Schwoebel, Jr. (Marsha), Janice Spencer, and the late Jayne Schwoebel.  Loving grandfather of Ashley, Dustin, David, Jr., Jaye-Anne, Jace, Drake and great grandfather of Jasey Rae, Gianna, Phinneas, and Maverick.  Dear brother of the late William Schwoebel, Jr. and the late Helen "Heidi" Boyd.

Services are being held privately at the request of the family.
