Jeanmarie Griffin
December 7, 1964 – July 14, 2026
With profound sadness and hearts filled with love, we celebrate the life of Jeanmarie Griffin, age 61, of Williamstown, New Jersey, who departed this life on July 14, 2026.
Jeanmarie was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on December 7, 1964, to William Gorbsky and Lea DeBlasio. She was educated in the Philadelphia public school system and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. Following graduation, Jeanmarie attended the James Martin School, where she obtained her nursing certificate and began a lifelong career devoted to caring for others.
For more than 40 years, Jeanmarie served in the nursing profession. Nursing was more than a career to her—it was a calling. Her compassion, knowledge, strength, and commitment to helping others made a lasting difference in the lives of countless patients and families. She had a natural ability to care for people during their most vulnerable moments and treated those in her care with dignity and kindness.
On January 7, 2006, Jeanmarie married her beloved husband, Barry Griffin. Their marriage was built upon love, companionship, commitment, and devotion. Together, they shared nearly 30 years of marriage and created many cherished memories with their family and friends.
Jeanmarie was the proud and devoted mother of her three daughters, Jaclyn, Deena, and Vienna. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.
She had a special gift for making a house feel like home. Blessed with an exceptional sense of style, Jeanmarie loved decorating and creating beautiful, welcoming spaces. Her talent also extended into the kitchen, where she was especially known for her delicious gravy and meatballs. Her meals brought family and friends together and became treasured family traditions.
Jeanmarie embraced life with determination, discipline, and strength. She enjoyed working out and took great pride in earning her second-degree black belt in martial arts. Her strength was not only physical—it was woven into every part of who she was.
Those who knew Jeanmarie also knew that she was loving, honest, and never afraid to tell you when you were wrong. She would “kick your butt when you were wrong—with a smile,” correcting you with both firmness and love. Her honesty, humor, and unforgettable personality made her deeply loved by everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Jeanmarie found happiness at the beach and enjoyed peaceful walks along the boardwalk. A true foodie, she delighted in discovering new restaurants, trying different foods, and sharing those experiences with the people she loved. Above all, she will be remembered for her caring heart, her strength, her warmth, and the love she freely shared with her family and friends.
Jeanmarie was preceded in death by her beloved father, William Gorbsky.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Barry Griffin; her daughters, Jaclyn Lowrance (Garry), Deena McBride, and Vienna Griffin; and her cherished grandchildren, Alayna, Amaiya, Adrian, Saoirse, Shonagh, and Lucianamarie.
She is also lovingly remembered by her mother, Lea DeBlasio; her siblings, Linda Healy, Chad Harris, and Jordan Johnson; her sisters- and brothers-in-law, Priscilla Dukes, Hakim Skinner, Ruby Lindsay, and Brian Griffin; her cousins, Tamika Henry, India Johnson, and Robert Lindsay II; her niece, Kashana Nelson (David); and a host of extended family members, friends, colleagues, former patients, and all whose lives were touched by her compassionate spirit.
Although Jeanmarie’s passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, her legacy will live on through the family she cherished, the patients she cared for, the traditions she created, and the countless memories she leaves behind.
Her life was a blessing. Her love was a gift. Her memory will remain in our hearts forever.
