Joan C. Townsend (nee Csernek), age 91, of Williamstown, NJ, passed away on July 23, 2026.

Joan was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, before residing in Williamstown. She worked as a Forms Design Specialist for GE – Aerospace Division in Philadelphia for many years before retiring. She spent many cherished years on her farm and especially loved all of her animals and birds. In recent years, she enjoyed coloring, drawing, and note-taking.

Dear daughter of the late Alexander and Anna Csernek. Beloved wife of the late William D. Townsend. Devoted mother of the late Cathy Diane Townsend. Dear sister of the late Robert A. Csernek (Theresa). Loving aunt of John Csernek (Elizabeth) and great aunt of Allison, Benjamin, and Kaitlyn. She is also survived by her dear friends Maureen Paulson, Marybeth Earley, and Dee Hamilton.
