Karen E. Balmer (nee Moebius), age 70, of Clayton, NJ., passed away on August 26th, 2026.
Above all else, family was at the center of her world. She was deeply family oriented and cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Outside of her family, she lived life to the fullest and found joy in the simple pleasures and experiences that created lasting memories. She loved going to the movies and had a deep love of music and dancing, regularly attending concerts to see her favorite acts, including ZZ Top, The Rolling Stones, John Fogerty, Bobby Rydell, and Aerosmith. She also had a wonderful love of travel; Holden Beach, North Carolina, became a favorite destination where she enjoyed many memorable vacations, alongside treasured trips to Hawaii and visits to Wildwood, NJ. Professionally, Karen devoted 25 years of her career to working as a Paralegal before retiring. She will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and the many happy memories she created throughout her life.
Beloved wife of 39 years to Glenn Balmer. Devoted mother of Robert Butterick (Lisa), Joseph Butterick (Francesca), Kevin Balmer and Douglas Balmer (Hillary). Dear sister of Charles Moebius. Adoring grandmother of Chase, Brittany, Francesca, Anthony and Nora. She is also survived by her cherished fur baby, Buddy. Karen is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Sarah Moebius as well as her sister Barbara Moebius.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, September 5th, from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM, at the Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown, NJ. Memorial service will begin at 11:30 AM. Interment will take place privately.
