Mark Marquez, 82, passed away at home in Williamstown on Aug. 10, 2023, after a short battle with illness.
Nothing seemed more important to him than loving his family. He seemed not to let anything worry him. Among the founding franchisees for Miracle-Ear hearing aids, he was the first to gross $1 million in sales at any of the company's stores. He was a salesman. He liked fishing and hunting. Mark was the owner of seven Corvettes throughout his life, and had the speeding tickets to show for it. As a young man, he aspired to be a dairy farmer, until he tried it, and learned he'd have to begin work at 3 a.m. daily, seven days a week. Mark was a U.S. Navy veteran.
His beloved wife Shirley of 56 years preceded him in death. Survivors include daughter Lora Turgeon (Robert); son Mark Marquez II; grandsons Zachary and Joshua; brothers Sam (Susan) and David (Rhea); and sister-in-law Joann (Ray). He was also preceded in death by his parents Raimundo and Mary (Asher); brothers Ray and James; and sister Mary Patience.
Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main St., Williamstown, N.J., where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Cedar Green Cemetery, Clayton, N.J.
