Mary Joan Hayes (nee Idell), 94, of Williamstown, NJ, passed away on August 29, 2024.  Born in Wayland, NY, she lived in Dansville, NY, Camden, NJ, and Magnolia, NJ, before eventually moving to Williamstown.

Known to many as "Joan", she was originally from New York, and she was raised by her aunt. After moving to New Jersey, she met her husband and together they built a beautiful life.  They owned and operated Starke the Florist in Camden, NJ, for over 25 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was known for her resilience, kindness, and unwavering love for those close to her.  She found great joy in nature, especially in camping trips with her family and tending to her beloved flowers.  Joan's legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren, and she will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Daughter of the late William and Edna Idell.  Beloved wife of the late Carl Hayes.  Devoted mother of Kathy Crane (Tom), Mary Joan Rullo (Anthony), and Jean Fote (Frank).  Loving grandmother of Melissa Sperry (Rob), Justin Crane (Danielle), Kyle Fote (Nicole), Marissa Rullo (Chandler), Logan Fote (Melissa).  Adoring great-grandmother of Taylor, Carl, Cooper, Callie, Corie, Carson, and Corbin.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Monday, September 9th from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at the Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown, where a service will follow at 11:30 AM.  Burial will follow in New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
