Obituary

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Mary Eleanor Marcinkewicz (nee Huber), age 81, of Franklinville, NJ, on February 28, 2025, of natural causes.

She was born May 15, 1943, in Philadelphia, PA, to Joseph Girard and Eleanor Mary Huber (nee Forbes).

Mary's early career focused on real estate. In the 1970's, she opened Tot's Town Nursery School in Pine Hill, NJ, where she supported many children and their families. She loved school, and returned to complete her Bachelor's of Social Work degree, graduating from Rutgers University in 1999.

A dedicated social worker, Mary devoted her career to supporting the elderly and advocating for institutional change from within her organizations. She was known for her warm personality, vibrant soul, and unwavering kindness. Whether it was a simple smile, or an encouraging word, she made every room brighter and every heart lighter. Her genuine care for others was evident in every relationship, from family to friends, and she will always be remembered for her compassionate nature.

Mary had a passion for sandy beaches, walking wooden boardwalks, and walking in flower gardens amongst the daisies-her favorite. Her zest for life inspired many, and her legacy of joy and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Those remaining to celebrate her memory are her daughter: Mary R. Huber of Adelphi, MD, and her siblings: Edward Huber of Napier, WV, Philip Huber of Lago Agrio, Ecuador, South America, Kathleen Strater of Haddonfield, NJ, Terry Perazza of Livermore, CA, Donna May of West Deptford, NJ, and Rosanne Conway, of Naples, FL. Mary also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, who remember her fondly for her vast knowledge of nursery rhymes.

Preceding Mary in death are her husband: Robert Marcinkewicz, and her siblings: Joe Huber of Terre Haute, IN, and Loretta "Penny" Huber, of Modesto, CA.

At the request of her family, Mary's memorial service will be held privately. In lieu of sending flowers, Mary has requested that you do something nice for someone.
