Obituary

Mervin E. "Brownie" Brown, a lifelong resident of Williamstown, NJ, age 82, passed away on January 13, 2022.

Mr. Brown was a veteran of the US Army.  Commonly known as Brownie, he was also a member of the Cedar Brook and Flying Buck gun clubs.  Brownie was a hard-worker who sacrificed many hours driving a tractor trailer for J& J Snack Foods up until just six years ago. His home away from home, AKA his "church", was the American Legion Post #252 in Williamstown, where he loved to spend his free time.  He was an outdoorsman at heart and could often be found hunting and fishing.  He enjoyed the simple things in life, a cold beer, playing lottery scratch-offs and visiting his wife's grave with his morning cup of Wawa coffee.  His family will deeply miss him being their chief "overseer" for all projects and their walking encyclopedia of knowledge.

Beloved husband of the late Carol A. Brown (nee Fanz).  Devoted father of Debra A. Kelly, Robert M. Brown (Sandra) and Patti S. Brown (Matthew Huston).  Loving grandfather of Samantha McLaughlin (Patrick), Joshua Smith, Briana Smith, Taylor Abbott and Rylee Huston.  Treasured great grandfather of Conor, Austin, William, and Robert.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, January 21 st from 10:00 – 11:30 AM at the Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown, where a service will follow at 11:30 AM.  Inurnment will immediately follow in the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, 240 N. Tuckahoe Rd. Williamstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Brownie's name to the American Legion Post #252, 20 Sicklerville Rd. Williamstown, NJ 08094.
