Mildred G.
Lloyd
September 2, 1929 – April 25, 2026
Mildred G. Lloyd ("Millie"), of Turnersville, NJ, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 25, 2026, at the age of 96.
Millie found happiness in life's quiet and playful moments. Whether she was crocheting a blanket made with love, piecing together a puzzle, playing Aggravation with family, or laughing with friends over a lively game of bingo, she embraced each day with joy. She also loved the thrill of her weekly trips to the casino with her Thomas. As she would say, "It only takes one hand."
She cherished the peacefulness of time spent on Brigantine Beach and along the Tuckahoe River—strolling the boardwalk, taking in the sights and sounds she loved. Each summer, you could find her in the arcade playing skeeball, enjoying a slice of Manco's white broccoli pizza, savoring Shriver's molasses taffy and fudge, and shopping at her favorite stores. Fridays were for hair and nails, and she was always dressed and ready to go at a moment's notice.
Millie was known for her storytelling, her special sayings, and her sometimes spicy language that always kept those around her smiling. She was, without a doubt, feisty. She also had a deep love for dogs—there was rarely a moment when one wasn't curled up in her lap or faithfully by her side.
Dining out was one of her favorite pastimes, and she had her treasured favorites: clams casino from The Crab Trap, Carmine's salad, and anything with Alfredo sauce from Angelo's Tavern. These meals were more than just food—they were moments of comfort and togetherness. And she never turned down a good Bloody Mary or a glass of iced tea—the sweeter, the better.
At the end of many days, she would smile and say, "I'm in the mood for something sweet," a phrase her family knew well. It meant one thing: a trip out for ice cream sundaes, creating memories that will forever be held close in the hearts of those who loved her.
Family was the center of Millie's world. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard A. Lloyd. She is survived by her devoted children, Sandra L. Kammer (Butch), Stephen W. Lloyd (Elizabeth), and David R. Lloyd (Linda); her dear brother-in-law, Ken Connor; her loving grandchildren, Tonjua, Shawn, Brett, Jerrod, and Carrie; and her five great-grandchildren. She was also a special "Nanny" to Nicholas and Hailey. She was predeceased by her sister, Helen Swan.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to her devoted personal aide, Barb, as well as the staff of Advanced Physical Therapy and Dr. Greg Taylor for the compassionate care and support they provided.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, May 9th, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown, NJ, where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gloucester County Animal Shelter, 1200 N. Delsea Drive, Clayton, NJ 08312.
