Paula's life journey
Paula was a true spark of fire, when she entered a room, she captivated the attention of others with her charming, and outgoing personality. She would make everyone around her feel a sense of excitement as she knew how to bring the best out of everyone she encountered. She always had time to listen and pray with people, as her love for the Lord, Jesus Christ, meant everything to her.
Our beloved mother, Paula Cotto, at the age of 90 years old, has finally come to rest on February 21, 2024, and belongs now to our faithful Lord Jesus Christ. She was born on November 15, 1933, to her parents Verta and Thomas. She was raised in the charming area of El Cibao, Santo Domingo together with her father, siblings, and close family members. Although her mother passed away when she was one year old, she grew up in a loving home. She resided in Santo Domingo most of her youth, and there she was blessed with becoming a mother to three beautiful children Sonlly Armando, Maria Isolina, and Adalgisa Rosalia, who were the apple of her eyes. In Santo Domingo, she met Hector Luis Cotto, whom she married and relocated to Puerto Rico. While residing in Puerto Rico in 1978, she gave her life to our Lord Jesus Christ. Shortly after, they relocated to the U.S. mainland. There she spent the duration of her life in the states of New York and New Jersey. She dedicated her life to serving God, evangelizing to her family, friends, and anyone she would encounter along the way. Her greatest mission was to see all her family members accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. She was a prayer warrior, loved reading the word of God and praising the Lord. Her life was a living example and walking testimony of what a child of God should be. She was a devoted mother and grandmother; family meant everything to her. Being in the presence of those she loved brought her indescribable joy and laughter. She was the center of our hearts and will be missed dearly. She leaves a beloved legacy that includes her three children: Sonlly Armando Monclus, Maria Isolina Monclus, and Adalgisa Rosalia Ritchie; nine grandchildren: Yocasta, Rafael, Nelly Michell, Penelope, Paola, Sonlly Joseph., Sanlly (Vani), Luke, and Marta Michelle; eighteen greatgrandchildren: Julisa, Jailynn, Indira, Taina, Shane Jr., Giannie, Meleny, Alejandro, Shaniya, Emma, Nathaniel, Saige, Ava, Amalia, Maverick, Armond, Elijah and Emanuel. Lastly, one great-great-grandchild, Adrian. We will forever miss her but believe strongly in the promise of Jesus Christ, that we will one day be reunited again.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Saturday, March 2nd from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Spanish AG/Pentecostal Church 100 French St. Hammonton, NJ 08037, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery, Hammonton.
