Peter E. Getchell, age 75, of Erial, NJ, passed away on May 22, 2022.

Born and raised in Salem, MA, he lived there for many years before moving to Shamong and Erial, NJ.  Peter started his engineering career at Kemper Insurance and ended with Seneca Insurance Company, where he retired in 2019.  An avid Boston sports fan, he loved golfing and playing softball.  He enjoyed his time spent with his family and friends and could never get enough of his favorite show, NCIS. He was a devoted member of Hope Chapel and will be remembered for his friendly, outgoing personality.

Devoted father of Peter Getchell, Jr. (Danielle), David Getchell (Alyson), Sandra Getchell (Nafee), and Gabrielle Murphy (Brian).  Loving grampy of Kiarah, Grace, Josie, Emma Sue, and Johnny.  Dear brother of Benjamin Getchell (Sally) and step brother of Joyce Bynum.  He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, June 1st from 10:00 – 11:30 AM at Hope Chapel, 28 E. Branch Ave., Pine Hill, where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM.  Cremation will be held privately following services.
