Obituary

Robert (Bob) A. DiLella, age 73, of Williamstown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 22, 2026.

Bob was born and raised in Manayunk, Pennsylvania with his loving and hard working parents Mary and Frank and five siblings.  After finding the love of his life, Julie, Bob started his family in a row home in northeast Philadelphia before upgrading to a single family home on a quiet street in Blenheim, New Jersey. He raised his twins Michael and Tony and son Bobby Monica. His boys were his greatest pride.  Julie and Bob retired to Williamstown, New Jersey which allowed them to be closer to their grandchildren.

Bob was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for his family. He worked as a letter carrier (and supervisor) for the United States Postal Service (USPS) in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. While working for the USPS, Bob always worked a second job so that no one "went without." He retired from the USPS after 35 years of service.  In retirement, Bob could not remain idle and continued working several jobs.  Some of them included: A driver for South Jersey Transportation Authority, Classic Cake delivery driver, vending machine repair maintenance, and, his favorite, alongside his brother Gus as a driver for Wilke Lexus.

Bob believed in God and country. He was a true patriot.  He was known for his tough demeanor and a quick wit. Beneath the tough exterior was a huge heart.  If you were lucky enough he would share it with you. Being loved by Bob meant so much more.  His greatest joy was becoming a grandfather to Tori, Nora and Max. Of all the love he gave none was greater than the love he had for his grandchildren.

Bob was married to his true love Julie for 46 years.  Devoted father of Tony (Lauren), Michael (Brinda), and Robert Monica.  Loving Pop-Pop of Tori Rose Monica, Nora and Max DiLella.  Dear brother of Frank (Pat), Dan (Monica), Maryanne Felici (Ernie), Linda Rapisardo (Anthony) and the late Joe.  He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and his best friend Tony Sposato.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, March 27th from 10:00am – 11:00am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819 Cathedral Road, Philadelphia, PA, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Westminster Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA.
