Robert B. Murphy, age 85, of Holiday City in Williamstown, NJ, formerly of Northeast Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025.

Robert (Bob) was a true people person, and loved socializing- no matter where Bob went, he always knew someone, and someone always knew him.  In his younger years, he was well known throughout the neighborhood, primarily for coaching youth football, a role he embraced with pride.  He dedicated over 20 years of service to SEPTA in Philadelphia before enjoying a well-earned retirement.  In retirement, and after moving to New Jersey, he enjoyed riding his bike throughout the community, always chatting with neighbors, or sharing daily laughs with his friends at Dunkin' Donuts. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family.

He was the beloved husband of 63 years to Catherine Murphy (née Schoenheiter); devoted father of Robert B. Murphy, Jr. (Mari), Kellie Reilly (Ted), and Jessica Chambers (Michael); and a loving grandfather to Bryan, Sean, Robert, Shane, Abby, and Emma. Robert was also a treasured great-grandfather to Riley, Aoife, Lakelyn, Zoe, and Finn. He is survived by his dear siblings Michael Murphy (Donna) and Kate Murphy, and was predeceased by his brothers Joseph Murphy and Jack Murphy. Robert is also lovingly remembered by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Monday, May 19th, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 176 Stagecoach Road, Washington Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
