In Loving Memory of Roy Kreiser
Roy Eugene Kreiser, aged 84, of Williamstown, NJ passed away peacefully in his home on February 27, 2024, surrounded by the warmth of family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the unforgettable imprint of his toughness.
Born on January 19, 1940 in Jonestown, PA, Roy lived a life full of purpose and perseverance. His family and close friends knew him for his grit, dry sense of humor, and adventurous spirit.
In his younger years, Roy found great joy in a multitude of athletics including football, running, basketball, tennis, biking and weight lifting. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved backpacking, hiking, and canoeing. His woodworking skills helped outfit his family's homes with beautifully-made and sturdy furniture.
Roy extended his creativity to cooking, sometimes with unique ingredients. He was a DIY advocate and inspired those around him to be unafraid to try new things, new projects, or new ways of thinking. He loved his many family trips to Rehoboth Beach where he enjoyed trying new restaurants, walking the boardwalk, and telling his grandkids story after story.
Roy and his wife spent much of their free time in recent years volunteering in soup kitchens or participating in Bible studies where Roy was likely to show his leadership by organizing the meal preparation or offering his (strong) opinions on the Bible lesson.
Roy held on as long as he could, saying he didn't want to leave "his prize," his wife of 54 years, behind. His loving wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will miss him deeply and keep his memory in their hearts forever.
In accordance with Roy's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Instead, we invite all who knew Roy to celebrate his life in their own way, perhaps by taking a hike or volunteering in a soup kitchen in his memory.
