Thomas J.
Hewitt
January 19, 1964 – September 20, 2022
Thomas J. Hewitt, age 58, of Williamstown, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 20, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, he was raised in Holmes, PA and spent the majority of his adulthood in Cape May County before moving to Williamstown in 2004.
Tom worked as a chef and taught many culinary programs with the NJ Department of Corrections. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially of the Eagles and Sixers. He enjoyed cooking gourmet meals for family, riding his motorcycle, listening to Jimmy Buffet, and had a serious love for the beach. Tom cared deeply for his children, dedicating years to coaching and supporting their various sports. Above all, he treasured his time spent at the family shore house in Cape May Court House, enjoying Sam's Pizza and making memories with his friends and family. He was known for taking kids under his wing to provide guidance; one example would be Randy Smailer who he loved like a second son. Undeniably, he was blessed by so many people, it would be impossible to name.
Beloved husband of Nellie J. Hewitt (nee Gomez). Devoted father of Alexis Hewitt (Riley Levin) and Thomas Hewitt, as well as his fur babies, Milo, London, Gracie, and Giles. Dear son of the late James Hewitt and the late Mary Jane Jasinnas. Loving brother of Maureen Hewitt, Susan Hewitt, and James Hewitt (Barbara). Treasured uncle of Jennifer Hewitt, Blaine Fox, Austin Fox, Jimmy Hewitt, Tommy Hewitt, and Carleigh Hewitt. Son in law to Armando and Edith Gomez and loved by their extended family filled with numerous brothers and sisters in laws, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, September 26th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM at the Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Franklin Twp.
