LeRoy Maurice Carl, PhD, age 90, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away on July 12, 2020.

Lee was born and raised in Trenton, NJ.  He was a Professor of Journalism at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA for many years. Temple University was his home away from home.  He lived and breathed his job; earning himself the "Great Teacher Award" as a result of his passion for his career.  His love of journalism wasn't just his job, but a way of life for Lee. He truly loved writing and was a self-published author.   In his spare time, Lee enjoyed painting, gardening and following Temple sports.  Dr. Carl read the Philadelphia Inquirer daily from cover to cover.  He was also a lover of dogs and could often be found with a loyal companion by his side.

Beloved husband of the late Loretta Carl (nee Palermo).  Devoted uncle of James Palermo (Jackie) of Austin, TX, Joseph Palermo of Moorestown, NJ, Jason Palermo (Kim) of Voorhees, NJ, and Jeffrey Palermo of Williamstown, NJ.  Adored brother-in-law of Kathleen Palermo.  He also leaves behind multiple great nieces and nephews, as well as, a host of friends that he considered family.
